Westbound Interstate 70 in Missouri is now open.

Both directions were closed Sunday to all traffic, including oversize load carriers, as the result of flash flooding. The closure is in between MM 210 and 217 in St. Charles County, Mo.

Interstate 49 reopened Sunday evening after being closed at MM 54 in Jasper County, Mo. near Carthage due to flash flooding for several hours.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, there is no estimated time of opening for I-70 as of yet as water is covering the lanes and continuing to rise.

Motorists traveling east should take exit 210 onto I-64 East. From I-64 East, motorists can continue into Illinois or use I-270 to connect with other St.Louis-area interstates.

Those traveling west should use I-170 or I-270 to access I-64 West which connects with I-70 in west St. Charles County.

Flooding may continue as winter storms are expected in northern and western sections of the state.
