According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation overweight and over-dimensional permit division, the three hour and afternoon curfews for oversize permit loads of most sizes has been eliminated, and the curfews for the largest loads have been reduced to two hours.

The memo released for the DOT’s permit division on June 7 says effective immediately, loads less than 12’6” wide, 15’ high, or 90’ long are no longer restricted by daytime curfews in Tennessee. Loads over these dimensions are prohibited from moving from 7 – 9 a.m. and 4 – 6 p.m. in the following counties: Davidson, Hamilton, Shelby, Know, and Rutherford.

Mobile homes, site-built houses, and houseboats will continue to be limited by curfew travel restrictions regardless of dimension.
