The Arizona and Nevada Department of Transportation released advisories warning motorists of closures to portions of I-10 near Phoenix, I-19 near Tucson and I-15 in Las Vegas for major construction and the I-15 widening project.

Closures begin Friday, Oct. 13 and run through Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The Arizona DOT will close I-10 West at 59th Avenue between 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 to allow a crane to bring in an 80-foot beam above I-1o for a flyover bridge.

Westbound traffic on I-10 can exit the freeway at the 59th Avenue off-ramp and re-enter at the 59th Avenue on-ramp, but delays are expected. ADOT has advised motorists, including commercial vehicles to use Loop 101, west of I-17 instead.

Interstate 19 will close in both directions this weekend at Ajo Way (State Route 86) for a bridge construction project. The highway will be closed from 9 p.m Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. According to the advisory, ADOT will direct traffic onto the SR 86 off-ramps and back onto I-19 on the SR 86 on-ramps. The ramp connecting westbound I-10 to southbound I-19 will also be closed during the same time period.

The Nevada DOT will close the northbound I-15 exit to the 215 Northern Beltway in North Las Vegas from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting the evening of Sunday, Oct. 15 through the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 17. The closure is part of an I-15 widening project.
