PennDOT has put some road restrictions and speed restrictions in place in response to winter weather conditions.

There are full commercial vehicle restrictions in place, as well as empty and double trailer restrictions, in addition to speed restrictions.

A 45 mph speed limit has been set for some areas directly affecting by freezing rain and sleet. Speed restrictions can be checked at 511pa.com.

After Monday’s snowfall, Tuesday brought on freezing rain and sleet creating hazardous conditions for vehicles, especially commercial vehicles.

PennDOT started the restrictions Monday night at midnight, with a full commercial ban (including buses) on I-70 in Fulton County from the Maryland line to the turnpike, and on I-99 from I-80 to the Turnpike.
