PennDOT has put some road restrictions and speed restrictions in place in response to winter weather conditions.
There are full commercial vehicle restrictions in place, as well as empty and double trailer restrictions, in addition to speed restrictions.

A 45 mph speed limit has been set for some areas directly affecting by freezing rain and sleet. Speed restrictions can be checked at 511pa.com.
After Monday’s snowfall, Tuesday brought on freezing rain and sleet creating hazardous conditions for vehicles, especially commercial vehicles.
PennDOT started the restrictions Monday night at midnight, with a full commercial ban (including buses) on I-70 in Fulton County from the Maryland line to the turnpike, and on I-99 from I-80 to the Turnpike.
The following were prohibited on the Turnpike (from New Stanton east to Carlisle) beginning at midnight:
- empty, straight CDL-weighted trucks
- all large combination vehicles (double trailers)
- tractors hauling empty trailers
- any trailers pulled by motorcycles, passenger vehicles, pickup trucks or SUVs
- all motorcycles
- all recreations vehicles and RVs
At 6 a.m. today, all commercial vehicles (including buses) were banned on:
- I-380 from I-81 to I-80
- I-80 from I-79 to the New Jersey line
- I-81 from I-78 to the New York line
- 1-84 from I-81 to New York line
- I-476 (northeast extension of Pa. Turnpike) from I-78 to Clarks Summit (exit 131)
- I-80 full length from Route 220/US 15 to I-80
Also at 6 a.m. today, all vehicles were prohibited on the following roadways:
- PA Turnpike from I-81 to the New Jersey line
- I-176
- I-283
- I-476 (non-turnpike, full length)
- I-476 (turnpike northeast extension) from Mid-County (exit 20) to Lehigh Valley (exit 56)
- I-676
- I-76 (turnpike and non-turnpike from New Stanton to Philadelphia)
- I-78 full length
- I-81 from the Maryland line to I-78 split
- I-83 from the Maryland line to I-81
- I-95 full length
- Route 22 from I-78 to the New Jersey line
- Route 33 from I-78 to I-80
