An I-94 bridge in North Dakota near Sterling and McKenzie is closed at least for at least one month after being struck by a semi-truck.

The semi was hauling an oversize load containing a metal spool when it struck the overpass on 275th NE between Sterling Interchange at exit 182 and the McKenzie Interchange at exit 176, causing structural damage.  According to North Dakota Highway Patrol, the driver of the loud went off route from the approved one on his permits.

North Dakota Department of Transportation said repairs will take at least a month to complete.

Oversize loads such as this require special permits and route surveys to ensure safety. WCS Permits was not involved in the permitting of this load.
